Khane's war journal (excerpt 2)

excerpt from the Annihilation War

Age of Conan, day 20 in war.

I have lost faith in our King and i doubt that he is up to the task to protect all of his empire which is why we tonight attempted to take Tesso under our control and cleanse the village of the currupted that dwells there. We marched in with our great cavalry and it all seemed very quiet, too quiet. We slowly began to realise that after we had announced the village as ours, our enemy slowly started to surround the citywalls. We did what we could to hold them off but mercenaries hired by our rivals, clever and more skilled gave us a good fight. In a desperate attemp to end this once and for all we stormed out to the place where from they were organizing their attacks but yet they had read our minds. An ambush awaited us and fighting on their ground, outnumbered and surrounded we were brutally slain. After we had been revived by priests and our souls restored we approached Tesso again, yet it was too late. The bandits had already taken the village and built small but i dare to say key-defences. Many tries failed and even we managed to draw them out of the village but their numbers were too many. Clan Fearghal played a major role and i blame them for our defeat. Their fighting skills and numbers have surprisingly increased. We may indeed get close to find the nest of evil from where they order their troops.

We admit our defeat in the battle of Tesso and we have learned a valuable lesson in this war although an expansion of my clans domain will have to wait it still remains a necessary part in the puzzle to have such lands to send us resources, food, arms and other supplies that we may need when fighting long from our beloved home.
