Khane's war journal (excerpt 1)

excerpt from the Annihilation War

Age of Conan, day 17 in war.

In the past week my affairs have been far away from home. I have been travelling in the warm lands of Stygia away from Ironguard and my beloved Cimmeria that i have chosen as resting place for me and my men. Our efforts have been grave and our enemies have grown larger resently, just a few weeks from now i was forced to declare war against Blood Dawn. Even though Blood Dawn is a much younger clan it made us believe that it was a bigger threat to us than what it actually is. One of thier leaders Apokolips was the reason to my declaration and they will pay a high price for his misdeeds. His insults and personal accusations have come too far. Not only that but also that they have seemed to pick up members from a clan in which we had already ordered assasination attempts on in the first place after revealing unbelieveable rituals from these cultists.
Blood Dawn have shown little courage and even less honor when it comes to their fighting abilities. In our pursuit of their souls they have seemd to pick up certain other clans by telling lies behind our back, making us stand out as liars and murderes. Clans worth mentioning that have joined them in the war so far is, Clan Fearghal, The Black Wolf and a mysterious Black Grail clan which true name i have not learned yet. I must say that i admire the warriors of Clan Fearghal. They may not be as skilled as we but they definatly have the courage and honor to stand their ground unlike the scum of the Blood Dawn.

Shortly after our war was initiated friends of mine in the House of Asgard offered me a meeting to discuss rules of war, yet i usually have very little to discuss with Blood Dawn i accepted to come to such a meeting. We were greatly protected and if it hasn't been because of that i am sure Koous and I would have slayn their leader Leeloo and Apokolips with ease. Their respect in such a meeting is a disgrace for every knowledgeable man. As we stand on the high-ground in this war they continued to insult not only me but also my own clan. They left me with very little choice and the war continues.

Our battles are plenty in Stygia and i regret that i did not bring Ink and Papyrus with me to make my discriptions more detailed, afterall an architect like myself should have his tools with him at all times. However three fights among the many i remember quite good.

We were tracking down a group of Blood Dawn members to end their pitifull lives. After a while we succesfully assaulted their camp but a few of the cowards managed to escape our ironhold and flee into the Purple Lotus Swamps. Yet we were doubtfull we recieved word later that they had retreated to Wildlands! The scum dared to enter the lands of my own childhood, abomination! We rode for days in the scalding deserts but we were determined that they must not get away. We never got much rest upon our arrival in Tesso before the filth was all over the town. With great superiority we slayed them all covering Tesso with their blood.

We were approached by members of the Clan Fearghal in open battle and with even numbers. Their tactic and strategic abilities are far better than those in Blood Dawn. Using the terrain, ambush and other fine moves made them a worthy enemy but we still easely managed to kill them without any casualties. Had they only been as skilled with the sword and bow as they are with tactics it might have had anohter outcome. I must say that they would need the finest warriors to have taken us down that night. I was together with a well balanced group from my clan and we were fighting like one unit and with excellent teamwork and great support.

An afternoon i was walking through Kheshatta and i got assaulted by atleast two members of Blood Dawn. What they didn't know was that many of my kinsmen were in the area and we quickly formed and had our vengeance however they did not seem to stop. They called upon reenforcements and got aid form more than one clan outnumbering us.. As the cunning warriors we truly are we managed to devide their team and kill them yet again which of course made the cowards of Blood Dawn regret and flee into the swamps of the purple lotus.

I have great faith in this war and that it will toughen us and sharpen our skills in the dance of combat.
